In aircraft manufacturing, the door is an integral part of the production process, due to the critical need for the door to open reliably on demand. Most facilities are generally constructed with multiple bays which limits the effectiveness of conventional sliding hangar doors creating considerable dead space. Furthermore, conventional sliding doors do not provide a tight closure, allowing for bird infestation and air infiltration, with resulting energy loss and unpleasant working atmosphere. In northern climates, ice and snow are common and they build up in the track of traditional doors rendering the track system difficult to clean and operate. Under these conditions, a special heating system is sometimes installed to keep the track warm and operable adding considerable operational costs.
All Megadoors are customized for each particular application and are installed and maintained by local firms who specialize in servicing the aircraft manufacturing industry. (More information click here)
